*Also in hunting but thought maybe better in CR*

Thought I might enter this as its down on my hunt's meetcard but not sure what it's like? Is it like a hunter trial? Has anyone done it before?

I especially like that they give a prize for 1st Cambridge graduate/undergraduate!! Unfortunately, the eventer Sam Cutts is currently in statu pupillari so I guess that sort of rules me and my fat old chestnut out

Its rather large!!! Over the big melton hunting country, so hedges (huges ones!) and timber aplenty!! It is a race.... so really not for the faint hearted.... Baydale on here has done it once or twice

Ah - good to know! Perhaps I shall abstain... I have a great fear of hedges since being dumped in one last year and being nearly too short to climb out....

Rather depends how far the other way you want to go down the scale, but the Thurlow have a Hunt Ride on 27 Sept. Details are on Horsedates. Have been a couple of times and for those of us with with somewhat lower capabilities than required for the Melton Hunt version it is perfect! It's over 12 miles so you just take it at your own pace and watch out for the kamikaze PC kids. Prob 3ft max.

I wasn't convinced that I had the capability for the Melton Hunt Ride when I walked the course (lots of

faces from me), but Max persuaded me otherwise!
