Has anyone else heard that BHS are removing Member to member liability insurance B.

Meaning you can join as a member and have their third party liability insurance.

However if an accident is caused by a member to a member, there will be no cover.

e.g. a member's horse kicks another members horse and causes a serious accident, the cover will not be valid.

I have heard this is an underwriter change in cover, but wondered if anyone can confirm it. I would assume BHS would need to inform members of the change in cover?

I would expect most people would give up their gold membership and look elsewhere for insurance.

I think if they are changing the terms and conditions of the insurance they need to tell people. Best thing would be to call BSH and ask for clarification.

I've trawled through the small print and cannot see anything such as the OP states.
If the terms of this last resort insurance has changed mid term or at renewal (as membership is on an annual basis from joining, not at end of year for example) then I would expect the BHS would have had to notify all gold members and alter the currently displayed terms and conditions on their website.

OP, where did you see this? Or is it hearsay?

I heard it from a reliable senior source involved in insurance of this nature. But it didnt make sense to me either, that they would not have to significantly publicize it. Hence wondering. I have my third party cover elsewhere, hence asking the question as they'd have to tell members. It looks like the BHS policy runs 1st January to 31st December. Maybe it refers to the renewal for their 2025 policy, and hasnt come into force yet. And might not if they get alternate cover.

I put my 3rd Party Liability onto my horses insurance. It was only £13 more. I used to belong to the BHS but left when I heard about the way they treat their staff up in Head Office.I was a Welfare Officer for them. I dont like bullying of any kind.

Personally I get mine through being BD member and dont include it on my main horse insurance.
