members area at Burghley

Has anyone been to Burghley and had access to the members bit? The site says dress to be smart but how smart? I really need to know as none of my clothes are very smart - mostly jeans and t-shirts/jumpers etc. - and I may have to go and buy something.

just means no ripped jeans, tracksuits etc and smart/casual clothes. Ive been in a smartish fitted polo shirt and smart jeans and never had a problem....

I will be in hopsitality on the sat so not quite as posh

from what I gather though the hospitality and members areas are as KatB says just not tatty. i'm wearing cropped jeans and a polo i think but depends on how hot or alternatively wet it is...

I won the VIP tickets for writing a blog though, definitely wouldn't be there otherwise. Thank you both for the advice - I guess I can make do (hurrah cos I hate clothes shopping, can't be bothered to try anything on so usually get something that doesn't fit or hate when I get it home).
