Got to thinking after reading a post in vets about raised liver enzymes. At a purely lay level, I've had extensive experience of liver problems but I've had the day from hell today (ending up with me reversing into someone's 4x4) and tbh I just can't face typing it all out again. I've also had extensive (lay) experience of eye problems/eye removal, serious pollen allergy and some behavioural issues. There's other Forum members who similarly have extensive experience of specific areas/issues/problems. I was wondering if we could ask TFC if we could compile a list of members areas of expertise/interest and have it stored somewhere so that owners with problems could approach a specific member for information (as well as posting). What do people think?

Hiya, thats an excellent idea, you keep typing out the same thing I agree about the things you know and have experienced. Even after years and years we only learn about something by experiencing it and its so good to get help from those who have been there.

To be honest, you'd have no way of verifying if someone is an expert. We all have to take each other at face (or text) value.

The problem with this is that, if a niave/inexperienced person approaches a so called expert in private, said 'expert' could get away with wrong/incorrect/outdated advice and never be called up on it. Public threads are much safer to avoid this sort of problem. They are more difficult to pretend on.
