memory lane bedfordshire 1970's-1980's

ok probably a silly trip down memory lane does anyone remember soulbury stables or kingswood stables in bedfordshire.
tilsworth shows or go to stanbridge and district riding club shows, do they still have them.

Stanbridge show still happens ... I won the 2ft6 there a couple of weeks ago

I don't remember any of the rest tho - only moved to the area 6yrs ago

We used to go to the Tilsworth shows years ago - I still have some of their rosettes. We are talking about 25 years ago.

i ment the soulbury stables that ivan mears ran.

I certainly remember the Stables.
I just googled them on a whim and this popped up.
Small world.

I used to ride there in the 1970s and several of my family kept ponies and horses there.

I remember Ivan and his two sisters (one was Erica, I think the other one was Yvonne).

I remember the names of some of the people who worked there.
Ian, Martin Hucker (friend of Ivan's), Jill, Heather, Christine.

I remember when he was doing some breeding.
He had Soulbury FireSpark, Twilight Dancer and Bold Move.
I remember his own favourite mare Capucine.

I remember the Jack Russells - Debbie, Minnie, Suzy and the male dog whose name escapes me.

My Jack Russell was Toby, who was born to Minnie, daughter of Debbie.

I can see that yard and tack room so clearly in my mind's eye.

Innocent, fun times.
I remember the rides and the shows.
I remember bringing up the horses and ponies (I helped out on a voluntary basis).
I suppose kids can't do that these days.

Does anyone know what happened to Ivan and his family?
