I’m hoping you clever bunch can come up with some good ideas! We have the opportunity to join our local hunt on Saturday but my son has outgrown his tweed jacket.

As we don’t currently have transport we aren’t likely to get out many more times this season so I’m loath to spend £100 plus on a jacket that’s unlikely to be worn many times. He’s 16 and still growing.

He’s a 36” jacket in a suit so more likely to be men’s than boys sizes. Does anyone have any genius ideas on where to find a cheapish but warm jacket? Have tried eBay and loval Facebook groups but nothing so far.

Thanks in advance

Try local charity shops? Then if there's something vaguely right you could alter it, or get a local seamstress to alter it. Would be considerably cheaper than a new one. Good luck with the search x

Yes! Fantastic idea. A trail of the local charity shops has just yielded a lovely vintage wool hacking style jacket in a lovely tweed for £20!! Probably a little on the large side but I can work with that :)
