Silly thread really but i wondered if anyone else has come across this.

My Dad is really scared of horses (i think he had a bad experience as a child) However, he is not scared of horses that are 'rounded' with 'fluffy' legs!! He will happily stroke a shire horse but runs a mile if say a TB came any where near!

I asked him why and he said 'the fluffy ones look like carthorses so they cant do much harm' erm father dear do you not think it would hurt quite a bit if a shire horse stood on your foot or kicked you:confused:

My OH is Australian and he had never seen a feathered horse before, he now loves them but keeps saying ' oh look babe there is a horse with fluffy hooves' bless!

Good job i am a feather lover :)

awwww how sweet is your dad lol my oh likes feathery legs and long manes and i hate hair i like nice neat tidy horses and yes i do own a cob a show cob lol

It's funny how people think :) my nan only liked TB's because that was a proper horse. I have a cob lol always was the disappointing child ;)

My dad's the opposite, he likes TB's and arabs. Think he looks down on my native x - well he calls her "the fat pony". OH doesn't know the difference lol.

Until I was in my 20's, I was extremely apprehensive about horses. I didn't care if they were fluffy or bald, they were all big kicking, biting things with bleddy great feet.

Within a year of getting married (to my horse mad OH), I was riding every week.

Well, not so much 'riding' as sitting.

Ive only had fine horses come to think of it, thats just my type i suppose so my mum doesn't mind them now, although my dad was horsey when he was younger so doesn't bother him!

same here my OH is a feather man and calls the featherless horses skinny legs :), coming to think of it my mum liked the hairy cobs but it had to have a HUGE bum otherwise wasn't cobby enough.
