Mens Yard/Riding Boots

My boyfriend has really taken to riding and helping with the horses. Currently he rides in walking boots and chaps but i'm looking to get him some warm boots for the winter. They need to be long and waterproof so that he can wear them in the field but also sensible for riding.

I was thinking more of a country type boot as he's not ready for breeches and real riding boots yet (i think it'll make him feel un-manly)

Any suggestions?

My OH wears mountain horse high riders, with joddies and it hasn't resulted in any loss of manliness.......
