Is anybody elses horses going mental due to the funny weather we have been having recently. My usually mega calm mare has been so bad. We have had bucking, rearing in my face and bolting up to the field when she normally just plods and the others around the yard have been similar

my horse is also usually pretty calm and hacks out really well, but just recently he's been a total pain in the ass! if any one has any ideas to help please feel free to share them - he's drining me mad at the moment. he's usually a bit hyper around spring time but not usually as bad as this

I thought the weather has been so odd. She lost all her winter coat now really and it suddenly turned cold so she had to have her turnout on. My mare is normally cool as a cucumber wouldnt dare rearing in my face but she was so bad today I was actually quite stunned. She wouldn't be caught and tried kicking. Honestly what happened to the perfect first pony I bought.

My ASBO mare has been living up to her name recently, today she threw her toys out of the pram when I asked her to stand still for 10 seconds, she then proceeded to reverse into a fence (with a ditch on the other side) and rear up vertically but she's stuck in her sable most of the time so I can't blame the grass

my youngster is a loon at the moment same as you describe!! funny weather i think...(hope)

just wanna say im so glad im not alone on this one, i was beginning to think my horse had turned into a nightmare. hopefully he'll settle again soon

as soon as it gets warm again hopefully they will turn sweet again. I might walk my pony around the yard for half hour tomorrow instead of riding to try and get her into some ground manners. She needs it

My horse is as flat as a pancake

Yes my mare is uppity and a bit full of it. This is not like her either, she's also usually laid back. The thing is its going to go on a while this year isn't it? - baring in mind that the grass isn't through that much, will we all be sailing through the air when it rains and the grass finally grows?

Oh yes Bert was on fine form today, putting in a couple of "I am having a tantrum" bucks before we got off the drive way. God forbid he has to stand still for a few minutes. The weather had him in high spirits throughout the hack.

Mines another one thats a bit hyper at the moment and she seems to have been in season since for ever! Normally you can't tell when she's in season but this time she's been acting like a right trollop! She actually managed to let herself out of her stable one night through the week and went and urinated on neighbouring geldings rugs that were hanging over his door - gross!

No! I have a flat pancake horse that lollops around everywhere putting minimum effort in! Think he needs a change of scene though so will be getting him out in the trailer asap.
