Well I had a lesson wit Carl yesterday on Merlin, and as some of you may know he has ben feeling rather hormonally challenged recently, and his work had deteriorated slightly because of it.
WELL He has finally decided to work for me again, and went quite nicely in the lesson. Phew!
We worked on shortening his canter but at the same time getting him to jump more. He got the idea quite quickly and so we tidied up our walk canter walk transitions.
For the second part of the lesson we worked on the trot, where Carl was getting us to workmore towards passage in the trot, to get more elevation and expression.
I was amazed with how well Merlin coped as he can be quite hot. What I was really happy about was how much the new improved trot helped his leg yielding and lengthened strides.
Carl was very complimentary about Merlins trainability, and said he has got a fab passage in there!
We have lots to work on, hopefully it will give us more of a chance at the regionals!
Thanks for reding!
