As title just to wish everyone a lovely christmas i know that aside from the lovely this time of year can be very stressful and pressured but i hope everyone can kick back for a minute or two and enjoy it,
now: sully has been getting progressively spookier since a brought him but doesnt jump instead slams on the breaks stands stock still shaking for a while if u ask him forwards (with reins on the buckle or on a contact) he runs backwards or whips around. I thought to start with he was just feeling well but now im worried.
when i get on from the mounting block at the yard he we stand but spooks form things in front then when i walk around the yard to loosen up he is very spooky in a slow confused way. Its like he can't see wether the ground is level, when u put his feed down it takes him a minute to 'find' it and when being led out he rear and kicks (not just excitement but true bolting like in blind panic). Is it possible his eye sight is degenerating or could something be off with ears and balance??
his saddle and back is fine but chiro visiting as often as i can afford anyway, he is 17 tb and the vet will hopefully give him a proper look over 26/27. Do any of you have a any ideas?
when nervous out hacking if you get off and lead him he is okay and will stand still enough for me to jump back on afterwards, we've stopped riding until we can rule out neuro damage.
also he moves funny when being ridden lifting feet higher than usual in an odd 'steppy' pace
sorry for long PLEASE PLEASE ANYTHING APPRECIATED!! mince pies and tea for everyone.
