So....

My Dr signed me off work for a fortnight as I picked up a rather nasty infection:( So I go back to work and they have decided to cut my hours right back as they now believe I am 'unreliable'.......Then my manager then tells me she would 'understand' if I wanted to leave as I had took the job on the basis that it was full time. (talk about nudging me out the door!?!)...

So decided to do some jumping with my horse to cheer me up- she was going fab:D then threw her shoe:( luckily she didnt stand on any of the nails and shes not lame. Oh well theres the hack I had planned for tommorow out the window!! :(

Oh well, on a better note I found out this morning that I have been shortilisted for another job! (Also a much more steady one by the sounds of it!) So hopefully this has come just at the right time. Wish me luck HHOers!! ;) x

Do you have a contract of employment ?
Any changes to your terms and conditions need 30 days written notice ?
If you dont have a contract theyre also leaving themselves wide open to claims against them for loads of things

That all sounds a bit dodgy by your employer!!!

What contract do you have? By law they have to do everything in their power to get you back to work as seemlesy as possible.

This.
I am not sure they can do this to you, you are being constructively dismissed, you need to see someone who knows about employment law.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I feel that they are being really unreasonable over a 2 week sickness?! I know its not ideal but it happens. When i started the job I loved it but now im beginning to see the flaws in the way the company is set up and really want out. When I started I was told we would 'sometimes' work split shifts but then recently Iv been doing work split shifts nearly every day and most days are 10 hour shifts. Iv been having to put my horse on full livery some days (which adds up when my basic livery is already £200) as my shifts mean that some days Im up at 5am then not home til around 10pm with ALOT of travelling in between :( So to be honest, maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Just hope I get the job Im going for next week. To be home everynight in time for tea then have the rest of the evening to do horse/wind down seems like heaven just now....oh and its local so barely any travelling!!!! :D:D:D:D

ps. Im not entirely sure whats in my contract. Ive worked there less than 6 months and Its a 'funny' kind of job. Really not sustainable at all!!
