Well on Saturday it was cold and windy. So what did I deside to do?
Take Merryn to the beach ofcourse
Some friends bought there trailer over and Merryn loaded like a star as always.
We arrived and had to park in the houses as they don't let trailers in the car park. I hacked him along the road down to the beach. He was relaxed and calm. But as soon as we arrived at the beach it all changed. The beach was full of people and dogs. Merryn became very tence. I walked him round a quiet bit of beach. Sadly it didn't stay quiet for long. People crowded round to look at the horse on the beach. Mothers with children walked up behind him wanting to say hello and dogs ran all round him. Merryn was getting more and more stressed and I was considering taking him home.
I desided to get off and lead him for a while to see if that calmed him down. As soon as I got off he tried to roll. So I took his saddle off and let him roll in the sand. Everyone crowded round. Some people took photos. Merryn got up and the stress finaly got to him and he reared up and did an impresion of the lloyds bank horse
Suddenly we had the beach to ourselves 
I lead Merryn round and he seemed to calm down now the crowds had moved off and people had recalled there dogs.
We put his saddle on and I hopped onbord again. I walked him round a quiet bit of beach. He now seemed calm so we took him for a wander up the beach. Surprising lots of people who never expected to see a horse
We walked up as far as we were alowed to go. Then I got off and let my friends daughter get on. I led her back down the beach. When we got back to were we started we showed him the sea. He realy wasn't shore about it. It stood at the edge and walked backwards everytime a wave came in.
Then I remembered I had some Polos in my pocket. I paddled alittle way out and waved a polo under his nose. Merryn suddenly forgot about the sea and came out to get the polo. He ate it then realised where he was and hurried backwards. I stayed where I was and got another polo out. Again Merryn paddled out. I backed away and he followed desparate to get that polo. I let him have it. He then realised where he was but this time didn't worry. He just mugged me for another polo
He had a paddle around then I got on and took him in the sea. He loved it and splashed Now I had trouble getting him out. He was having so much fun in the sea.
After I had ridden him in the sea My friend and her other daughter had a go.
Merryn seemed to be realy enjoying himself. Once everyone had had a go and Merryn had got us all soaked we desided to call it a day. I road him back to the trailer and he once again loaded like a star.

We had such a fab afternoon. It was well worth the trip.
