Messaging from a smartwatch without being connected to phone

I want to ride without taking my phone with me. Is there a smartwatch or something else that would allow me to summon help if I fall off and that could track me without needing to take my phone with me. I ride off road, so there are places I go where I could be waiting a while to be located.

I have a Samsung watch that will let me message without my phone, however the caveat is that you must be on either EE or I think Virgin (don't quote me on that one) as your network. Of you're on any other network you must have your phone with you. When I was riding out regularly on my own in the summer with no pockets, I'd did take out a contract with EE as found it much easier. My newer version of the watch will even let me send voice messages

Edited to clarify, you can still message from your watch if you are on different networks, but you must have your phone nearby for it to get a signal
