Met Baby Zebra today (pics for everyone!)

The fiancé and I headed out to see a friend on a farm outside of Johannesburg today. And we got to meet this little guy!

He likes to stay very close to mum.

He's trying to get the hang of this whole grazing thing...

But he thinks it's an acquired taste... you know, like olives?

It's pretty hard work to stand on those long legs all day...

But all to easy to collapse for a nap.

Does anyone know why we don't get stripy horses? I would have thought the zebra genes and hugely different to horse ones so I would think horses should be able to carry that colour gene

He's doing giraffe impersonation .. Love Zebras and the sound ( bray..neigh ..hoot lol) they make. There were a couple for sale in dragon driving last year at £5000 each

What a cute little guy and how lucky are you OP to have all that sunshine? We wish !! Just as an aside ....my highland has really well defined zebra markings on all four of his legs, behind his knees and inside his hocks. Not too visible ATM due to his winter coat but really obvious in the summer.
