Has anyone had any experience of laminitis in a very large horse as this time of year? What is the prognosis, and any suggestions as to how to manage the condition to prevent reoccurrence?
The grass is still growing and this time of year is worst for horses with Cushings or horses with metabolic problems. Will need to know abit more about the horse to offer any help..
What is the horse being fed?.On Hay or Haylage?.

Age
Other health problems?.
Overweight/underweight?.
Horses can get laminitis at any time of year unfortunately. Here's some basic info but his diet may need adjusting in the longer term/permanently. http://www.ecirhorse.com/index.php/laminitis
My 16hh gelding had laminitis this time last year,we nearly lost him. He was found to have insulin resistance. He has made a full recovery thankfully and went out for a 2hr hack yesterday, something I never thought would happen. He is being monitored very very closely now.
