Does such a thing exist? A metal strip to go over the top of my wooden gate to stop my bloody horses chewing it? Like the ones you get for stable doors but much longer I guess.

You can be various metal strips, mouldings etc. from builders' merchants (or B&Q, but probably dearer there). I would think you could probably find something that would do the job.

Seek out an agricultural engineer who will make you exactly what you want. I regularly ask for things to be welded and made up.
