I haven't used this for ages, but have just discovered it was taken off the market a couple of years ago.

Does anyone know if you can still buy it outwith the UK (or even still in it), and if so does it have another name.

I've been searching the veterinary sites but to no avail.

Thanks in advance!

I know, totally ridiculous, but the same happened with Dermobion, and it's marketed as something else now....I was vainly hoping there may be an equivalent product.....

Thanks anyway....

Thanks guys. What I want it for is for a suspected lurking abscess. I've come across these occasionally in the past in horses, and it's taken a while to convince a vet that it can be the problem. A friend of mine had a horse that had been down the x-ray route, and was nearly PTS because they couldn't find the source of lameness until I press-ganged her into trying this, and it cleared up and went sound thereafter. My vet prescribed oral paste Metronidazole; it came in a syringe so don't know the quantities used.
The thought of trying to explain it in French to vets who use totally different medications anyway, is offputting after the disbelief I encountered with vets that spoke the same language as me.
Star, is yours prescribed for the animals, or do you use human stuff. If so, how did you work out the quantities?
Sorry for the questions, but it's something I do want in my medicine box

we use human tablets and the human IV injectable form. we uses loads of drugs that aren't licensed for use in animals because there isn't a suitable licensed product. the doses are all in the BSAVA formulary - i just follow that - i guess they've been worked out after years of using them and extrapolation from human doses.
