As promised, the results of Merlin's first Elementary class...

....HE WON!

He was in a very large class (around 20) His trot work wasn't as good as usual as his saddle needs changing as he's got much more muscley recently (saddle fitter is out this week) but he got fab marks for his canter, and nailed walk to canter!

We also won the Novice class!

We will be doing lots more once the saddle is sorted but HC so we dont win too many points (he's not even 5 till end of March)

He got 69.something in the novice, judge loved his canter work but said he needs to relax into the trot work, which we know was the saddle.(His trot is usually the best pace)

Pretty much the same in the Elementary comments wise, but he only got around 64 in this as I didnt 'bring him up' in front as the saddle was giving him grief, so we lost a few marks for that!

His training is more important to us than his scores at the moment, as he is only 4 we want to keep the pressure off.

Am looking forward to the owner buying him a new saddle though!!!

Those are great comments from the judges, especially when you know the reasons behind some of the things he was being pulled up on!

He is a beautiful horse... we need some videos of him in action.
