Hi all,
Put my mare on magox last summer as I suspected she might be deficient, and was 99% sure it made a difference to her feet. Took her off it when turned away and was footy over stones when took shoes off. Shoes never been off before so wasn't surprised. However, have put her back on it ready for coming back up, and within a week she's noticably less footy.
Am I imagining/mis-attributing it? Or how does Mg work such that it could have an effect that quickly? (I have a biology degree and a sister who's an equine vet, so technical responses welcome!)
Many thanks!

Can't give a technical answer, sorry - those things don't stick in my brain well! It is a well established phenominon, though, that MgO helps sugar metabolism. It can be particularly helpful in spring, when the sugars are highest.

OK, so if it affects sugar metabolism, then a rapid response might be expected? (Structural effect being rather more slow-acting?!)

Thank you... Presumably it wasn't my imagination then. Guess I'll keep her on it, anyway! (Grass tends to grow all year round with us as it is.)
