Miami, Floridia

I used to go to Florida with my parents very often - not exactly Miami though, but had a colleague who worked there.

One thing I would say is if you are there for quite a while, go and visit other towns and the Keys... just to get out of the big city jungle.

Visit the Everglades National Park, go to Key West....loads to do if you hire a car. Kennedy Space Centre is about 2.5hr drive away, it depends what you're in to really.

Take a thin cagoule (sp) & umbrella cos although it will be very hot & sunny - it can suddenly pour with rain/thunder & lightening for a couple of hours.....!!

Have fun!

If it's for the whole of Florida, here's a list of what I would do:

1. Visit the Keys

2. Do the usual suspects - Universal Studios, Epcot Center, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Cypress Gardens... don't know whether you would like to see Disney World, but even my parents enjoyed it back then and I am desperately trying to find an excuse to go even sans kids.

3. OH is a science buff... so the Kennedy Space Center would also be on the list - in Cape Canaveral.

4. Everglades National Park - if you go, DO NOT forget mosquito repellent... NEVER EVER!!! They are everywhere!

5. Visit the Everglades Alligator Farm

6. Go riding somewhere on a ranch.

But most importantly, HAVE FUN and have a heart for us here who have to stay in the rainy part of the world.

I got back from Florida a month a go, I went to Fort Lauderdale which isn't far from Miami. Were going to go to Miami but there were so many road accidents we decided no to. So just be careful as the roads are awful and they all drive like nutters. Was very hot and we had no rain what so ever so pack lots of sun cream and barely anyy clothes

Would suggest some trips to the big malls, a trip to the everglades (they're amazing). Didn't go to the Kennedy Space Centre this time but it is well worth the drive, swim with dolphins, go and explore a few different beaches they change so much just 40 mins up or down the coast. Oh and sunbathe a lot too, i got back a month a go and people still keep asking me if i've just been on holiday

Lol, my dad had an accident there with all of us in the car.

Was his fault though as he was the one who drove like a nutter!!! Nutty dad decided to reverse on the highway against his family's (wife + 2 kids in the back!!!) will, and banged into someone. Luckily, nothing too bad happened, hardly any damage as the person behind was driving very slow anyway. But he still was taken to Miami Police Station whilst kids got a ride to the hotel by Miami police - receptionist must have thought we were unruly kids!

I`m not a big fan of Miami to be honest but the Everglades are AMAZING!

The amount of wildlife you see is brilliant. We stayed in little wooden huts, woke up one morning and we had dolphins feeding and playing just outside our hut

Also had an osprey nesting in the tree next to the house

Keys are worth a visit as well and can def recommend swimming with dolphins its fantastic
