I sent a letter and got an email back. What a lovely home he had before. He was there from birth till late last summer and I got him in November. His owner was so happy to hear from me and sent me lots of photos and information. Aren't I very lucky????

He grew up on a small farm/livery yard/trekking centre that was open to the public. So he had a very good education by the sound of things

I still can't believe how lucky I am (eventually LOL)

I have tried contacting previous owners but never had a reply yet. What a lovely set of photos to get back! Also lovely his previous owners want to tell you about him

Wow, that's amazing! It can be hard enough to trace a horse in this country, nevermind abroad. The photos are a real bonus. They must have been so pleased to hear from you. What was his name before?

his name was 'Minor' I have kept that as part of his show name now 'Minor Miracle' which she said is so lovely.

she told me lots of things, he is afraid of injections (I know) he was not keen on water as a young horse so will still need patience with this.
he has a lump on his foreleg which I now know he did as a yearling on the water trough but it was never serious and never lame with it.

I know he was never ill or lame, only learn't to jump last summer as a 6yr old, so not rushed.

That's really nice that they sent you the photos. I emailed the stud farm that Belle came from but they never replied.

I would try writing to them. I know of a couple of studs that have had websites done but don't keep them up, one doesn't even have a computer

You are so lucky!! He is gorgeous. I would pay virtually anything to have a photo of Rauti as a cute foal, but sadly the breeders (who we're still in contact with and whom we visit at least once a year) didn't take any

Ah how nice to have that i always wonder how mine would have looked as foals etc (apart from my bubba i know what he looked like!) I'd love to see some pics of him with you know even more grown up!

Thank you all!! I do know how VERY VERY lucky I am. Have only had this once before, all the others I have owned I never knew much about them. Beacon my main horse I never even had a passport or knew his breeding for sure.

Holly I would would make it a very sweet letter telling them how much you REALLY would like to find out. Also include a photo of her now to encourage them lol
