I've decided I quite fancy one of these but can't seem to find much info online around the measurements/sizing.

My boy has quite a short, thick head (see below). All of my existing bridles are Kincade as it's one of the few makes that seem to fit him properly as he tends to fall between cob and full in many other makes.

Should I be looking at the Small horse or maybe even the pony given that I've read they tend to come up quite large?

Does anyone else with a similar type of horse have one and if so what size do you have?

I'd say standard horse. This is my 14.1 mare in a small horse:

Everything is on the top holes except the cheek strap which is on the last hole. You can use the measuring guide but I'd imagine your horse would have a stronger head than her.

Thank you!! Very helpful to get an idea of sizes - based on that picture, I'd agree that the standard horse might be an option but I'd heard a few people report that the standard horse was huge!

I'm going to email Ride Away to see if they can provide measurements before I place the order! Not sure why they don't make these details available on the micklem website!

If you like I can bring R's extra large one to ARC on Saturday for you to try on C for size as see you dressaging just after me. I know M is a standard size so you could compare his normal snaffle bridle to C's if that any help.

There is a hire a micklem website and she will ask you to measure

Bottom of ear to corner of mouth
Round his nose where a cavesson noseband would fit

so you get the right size so there must be a size chart somewhere

There was a thread here recently with a size chart. I have had a standard horse on my mare and that fitted as well but I was using it bitless so I don't know if the bitted parts would have been right.

That would be fab!!! I've had to return many a bridle in the past because he is inbetween sizes so it would be good to get an idea of sizing compared to your boys!
