I want to get a micklem bridle for my boy - he has a full size normal bridle on top holes (smallest setting) so what sized micklem bridle would you recommend i get as i heard the sizing is slightly off? :)
thanks

I have just got one for my mare who is usually at end holes of cob bridle or top hole of full. I couldn't decide between small or standard horse so went for small horse but had to send it back as it was faulty and a bit tight on throat lash anyway so I swapped for standard and it is still v tight on throat lash and at second to top hole on cheek pieces. If I put it on the top hole of cheek pieces I can't do throat lash up at all!! I wouldn't say my mare has a particularly chunky head so sizing does seem a bit strange! In the end I'm not sure which one fitted better but sticking with the standard size and hoping the throat lash stretches a bit. If there's anyone you know who has one you could borrow to try I would recommend it.
Sorry that is prob not much help!

oil the throat lash it will stretch, but make sure you have not fitted it too high as the cheek/throat lash should fit below the cheek bone.

Standard horse size. My 16.3hh ISH is on the smaller settings of most Full bridles a d headcollars. The standard horse is a perfect size on him.
