Can anyone give any reviews on these bridles? Do they actually do what they claim to do?
Also, I've heard the sizing is a little generous - is this true?

That's ok. I was interested aswell.especially on the "why buy a micklem" mist of your other questions are answered though

My experience was that it was impossible to get both the noseband and the bit at the right height at the same time horse has a cob sized head and a pony sized mouth so would have needed longer bit straps than were supplied. Next size up of bridle would have buried him. Did ride in it once to see if trying to find spare parts to make it fit 100% may be worth it and pony absolutely hated it, have never seen him so pissed off. Most people I speak to have positive experiences though, my pony is a tad odd and sensitive anyway and has strong opinions on what he does and doesn't like!

We have Micklem bridles, on 4 different horses.

It made a massive difference on the Irish Draft who is very obstructive and blocks at times, she is lovely and soft in it and works through from behind, she was very difficult to bring on andhas improved massively in it.
My big hunter never used to ride in a snaffle and didnt get on with them, she will ride in a snaffle in the Micklem and has been out and won her dressage now we are dressage bit legal!!

Our tb's both use them too, not major changes but nothing negative either.

Yes agree generous sizing. My hunter normally wears an extra full bridle but it standard horse in these, as is the ID.
I love them and think they are worth their weight on gold.

The black leather tends to be better quality than the brown though (no idea why that would be the case but it appears so from those we have).
