For those of you with micklem bridles, what's their sizing like? My normal bridle is full size with a cob noseband, would I need the standard horse?

My 14.3 that takes a full size bridle has a standard horse micklem. A friend of mine wanted one for her 14hh highland and tried every size but couldn't find one that fitted. The only way she could have got one to fit would have been if she could have mixed and matched. If you know someone that has one I would recommend trying before buying.

I have two, a small horse one that fits my 14hh new forest pony, she has quite a little head & normally takes a pony bridle & a standard horse for my 15hh TBxWelsh, who usually takes a cob bridle.

I would say the Micklems come up quite small so go for a slightly bigger one.

Also I think some places hire them, it might be worth hiring one to find out the size you need? :)

I think they come up a little bit small - I have had to mix & match a small horse and standard horse one ... luckily I was able to use all the pieces to make two Micklems that fit both my horses (thank god for that, wasn't a cheap exercise!)

Well, I've ordered a standard horse. Have asked if I can return if it doesn't fit and she said she didn't think there would be a problem. So now I'm just awaiting delivery. I've gone for the competition bridle as I never lunge and already have a bitless bridle.
