microchip

i have a mare with a microchip number on her passport and she is from holland does anyone know how i would go about getting her details from the number would a scanner from this country get them up or would i have to find an agancy in holland?

Can you work out the chip manufacturer (e.g. BAYER) from what is in the passport?

her passport is a dutch one just has a identification number and under that a microchip number no manufacturer name

ask your vet to scan it to make sure it is the same horse firstly (stranger things have happened!) and also the first few numbers give away the manufacturer. What they are I am afraid i can't tell you but firstly it would be worth trying to scan it!

it is the right passport as my coloured mare has unusal markings a lovely shaped one on her head thanks i will ask the vet on another forum a neighbour has asked the same thing she also emaild a place in germany about the chip and turns out the german mare has a netherlands passport and they are emailing her a phone number for one there so i have asked her to pm me the details fingers crossed i will find out

1st get yr vet to re-scan the horse then give Petlodge a call 08706066751 ot Pet track (out side the E.U) , thats what i did, then go from there. they will also tell you where the horse was 1st microchipped as it's the 1st 3 numbers for the Origin of the chip. Then you can register the horse to you, I had to pay £15 as my horse was chipped in france, might be the same amount of fee for you!
