My new horse is microchipped, how do I go about changing the details into my name? I only know she is microchipped as its in her passport which is German!

not sure-i need to do the same-old owners seemed to think there was a section in there paperwork for me to complete and send off?

Yes you should have a form and prepaid envelope which issued when the m/chip no, if first registered. I have just done two the cost is £5.

I had a filly with an Oldenburg passport, and also had a seperate 'ownership form' which should have been sent off for the change of ownership.
Its a long story, but basically I wouldn't trust the Germans with a passport if you took it over there and sat outside the office yourself.
If you really feel the need to get it sorted properly, just email Defra a notification/request.

Certainly for transfer of ownership in the uk there is a tear off attachment to the paperwork when the chip was first implanted ad paperwork issued which will need to be completed and sent back. Normally a signature from the previous owner is required otherwise anyone could change the details of any horse. I wouldn't know where to begin with changes from abroad, which database holds the details?? Petlog? Anibase/identichip? Try calling them direct???
