I saw in the post below that some people mentioned that instead of freezemarking your horse, you mark them to show they're microchipped?

Can anyone explain what this is please, where they're marked and also how much it costs to have it done?

Ta!

It's a horseshow shape that is applied just like a freezemark, but it's only one application instead of 4, and you can have it under the saddle, or on the shoulder. You have to wait a bit longer before you can ride if you have it under the saddle, but I think it's worth a week out of work to have it in a more unobtrusive area.

Farmkey do it. I can't remember what I paid. There's also an annual premium to stay on their register.

my chappy has one, he is grey and a show horse, and I really didnt want him to have a bald shoulder for the rest of his life. I think it cost £40ish (but this was four years ago.)

To be honest I do not think they are that brilliant, I haven't had it done again on my new horse. The majority of people dont know what they are (seriously the amount of people that have approached me and asked me if its some sort of conne grading stamp) They also aren't that obvious, I dont know if a theif would even notice it!
