Microchipping

Firstly I'm looking for ideas of cost, im in Derby so specifically if anybodys had Pool House to do it that would be great, they're out on friday so I'd also get split call out fee!

Also, if I do go ahead I would want the micro-chipping freezemark done, I believe it's a horse shoe shape? Has anyone had this done, if so who does it and how much is it? Also, does anyone have any photo's of this done?

the microchip freezemark with Farmkey costs £56 - same cost as a normal freezemark. I decided to have a seperate mark instead of the micromark on my girls, maybe its just my way of thinking but its a different mark and more visable than the horseshoe.
think the microchip costs about £30 then the callout fee on top of.

id not heard about having this micromark done!
where do they do it and how effective does anyone think it is?

the micromark is just like a freezemark, and done in the same area (saddle patch or shoulder) but its the same mark thats done of every horse unlike a freezemark that is personal to that horse.
I just thought that seen as how it was the same cost as a normal freezemark id have that as it stands out more than the horseshoe mark.

We had ours chipped a couple of months ago - it was £17 per chip so not very expensive at all. The call out charge is probably more so makes sense to have a few done at the same time (same with freezemarking I believe?).

Our vet was coming to do the annual vaccs anyway so we thought we'd get it done all at once.

Think if I was going to have a FM done though I'd rather have a unique number for my horse.

Wonder if they do it all together - ie the number and horse shoe so has its unique number and the sign it's chipped all making up the one freeze mark.
