Microchipping

I am looking for a bit of advice. I tried getting my horse microchipped recently but she went mental. The vet tried the twitch and that never worked either. I am frightended now that when it comes to her vaccinations she's going to go mental agagin. I really want her microchipped. Any suggestions to help her through this?

Would you consider sedating her ? ?

The vet said about sedating her but he didn't want to do it my injection incase this gave her a phobia of needles and he said there is a paste form but if varies on horse to horse on hoe much it works. He said we could give her it and it has little or no effect.
