Micronised linseed, does it go off?

In the past I have bought micronised linseed from Charnwood milling, and shared a sack, on a different yard now no one to share with, does the linseed go off? If so how long is its shelf life? I have bought a small bag which works out expensive

I think it is fine to buy a sack from Charnwood, so it is fresh and if kept in a cool dark vermin proof bin, I reckon six months will be fine.

I think I take about 6 months to use up a bag and it has always seemed fine kept in the wooden feed bin.

It will keep as long as you want it providing it has been kept dry and sealed right from opening the bag. I use a fermenting bin, bit like this, not sure of the size I have but it holds a full Charnwood bag with room to spare with a tight lid. I've also heard something about a 6 month shelf life. I keep my bag in a normal plastic bin with lid and have never had it go rancid, even if I've had some left past the 6 month mark.
