Does it go out of date and how do I know if it's ok to feed? Can't remember when I got it but horse hasn't been getting it all summer but has just had hind shoes removed so wud like to start feeding again

You should store it in a vermin proof container and in a reasonable place, if you did that it should be OK, I have some in a Kilner jar [for bread] and it is fine [12 months old].
I think it should really be less than 6 months. I don 't know how you could tell except if musty.
