Microvet v Arc Equine Unit

From what I can see, they are basically the same. They both work on microcurrent therapy & they both appear to be within the same ranges. The arc equine appears to be a bit more bells & whistles with it's package/delivery unit/programmes etc
Arc equine have also had a much slicker advertising/sponsorship programme.

Thank you very much. I've just found out my horse of a lifetime has a tear in the DDFT in the hoof, as well as coffin joint ligament damage, and I want to do everything possible to get her right, but if the Microvet is as good, I'll probably get that one.

Yes it's as good for sure. Micro therapy is all the same and Ian (Arc Equine) used to work as part of MicroVet. I think the Arc has fancier accessories and a remote unit but the output is the same.

Whenever this question has been asked before, Ian from ArcEquine has given the explanation that the programmes on the arc (of which there are four which can be run in lots of different sequences) use the microcurrent in different sequences from those used in the Microvet, sequences which are more appropriate specifically to the treatment of the horse.

I have no knowledge, this is just what I remember reading!

Hi there, I am an experienced ArcEquine user (I have 5 horses) and part time agent.

The two devices are not the same, the micro current frequencies in the ArcEquine have been updated a number of times as part of ongoing product development. The ArcEquine price has also recently reduced with an agent discount code.

I would be very happy to provide further information on my experiences with ArcEquine by PM.

Hi Hurricanelady

Please could you explain what you mean by the 'micro current frequencies in the ArcEquine have been updated'? and what difference these changes make to the horse healing?

Hi Hurricanelady

And what studies there have been which made them update the frequencies.

It is my understanding that the frequencies have been updated as a result of the ongoing product development cycle, which is what you would expect from any proactive manufacturer of this kind of therapy device who is interested in evolving the product as a result of relevant academic research and/or user feedback. The overall principles of the device remain the same. Further information on how the technology works (including references to relevant studies) is on the website, including here: http://arcequine.com/arc_system/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/IntroMET.pdf

I offered to give the OP my experiences of using the system by PM, which I am happy to do. I am not an in-depth detailed expert in the technology (that is what the manufacturer is there for and if you have detailed questions the contact details are on their website) but I have personally had positive experiences with it.

Hi Hurricanelady, I'm not the OP but I resurrected an old thread! If you wouldn't mind sharing your experiences by PM please, that would be great :)

Hi

I have recently purchased an Arc to use on my mare who has a hind suspensory lesion (acute injury).

My vet has suggested surgery but after much research I have opted to try this first. She can always have surgery if it is unsuccessful. I really hoping not. Vet is ndifferent about delaying surgery as it won't do her any harm, but he does not believe it will do her any good.

I would be really grateful to hear your experiences by pm. I am not sure if this is pm or not as couldn't figure that out.

Thanks :)
