Our mare is always bitten by midges. They seem to prefer her girth and tummy area. Our other horses are not bothered by them so we think the midges prefer white hair and pink skin. Any suggestions on the best midge repellent to use? Fly sheets are not the answer as they don't cover the tummy area where we get the problem.

second vote for coopers fly repellent but shop around on the internet for it as some of our local tack shops price it at almost double what you can get it for on the internet. I also use boett fly rug as the tummy is protected and feed either marmite or green tea in his feed to help stop any itching if he gets bitten - past the rug and the coopers
