First time out in aaaaaages and reliable as ever..... fresh AS..but such a good soul with it :)

N24 trot work= good, much better clarity in the medium and better suppleness. Veeeery tight in the trot/walk/trot in fact more of a trot/piaffe/trot and then not much walking was done... free medium or otherwise it was more jogging and tip toeing...whoops!

Canter balance is much improved and the GNR better but we bucked.... and bucked.... and bucked instead of doing medium canter.... all very cheerful zero malice but not really what the poor judge wanted!

And to end on a high I went wrong! which annoys me far more than anything Raf could ever do!!!

So between us binned about eleventy hundred marks lol.

65.21% which I’m really pleased with, shows the good bits are indeed getting so much stronger.

We went almost straight in to N39 and he prefers to have a snack/pee/rest stop really so I didn’t do much in between .... trot work again sweet, walk a *bit* better but still brittle, didn’t try for walk to canter just let him do a smidge of trot but tbf to him it was pretty balanced and relaxed, aaaaaaaaand then.......we cheerfully bucked round our medium canters again just to give this judge the same acrobatic experience!

Super pleased with the canter/trot/canter on the long sides and the rest of it though, all coming together sweetly.

63.07% despite all that and totally agree with the comments.

Really nice morning out, huge thanks to the organisational legend that is Phoebe at Reaseheath College Equestrian Centre.
Next stop Native Champs then we will start to collect AF points for 2020.DE72138B-BD55-4E30-9A6A-CA6175AB43D0.jpeg6A293096-A06A-43BE-9C9B-C488C1B19D79.jpeg24EC24AA-0A70-463C-B93F-9D3F48B74848.jpegBA5B3D0A-5318-4785-9078-6636CF75A84B.jpeg

Thanks guys :) so pleased with how it’s all feeling and that the work at home is starting to come together in the arena. Love him to bits!

The plaits were comedy huge, I think I’m going to have to go for one extra next time as they’re so fat the needle is almost too short to push through!!!E133A58A-AD75-4C5D-A3CA-0E5D22A604D0.jpeg

They look smart still though but yes, a bit on the large side - how long/ thick is his mane. My connie has such a thick mane I'm always wondering how best to plait it.

Pretty long and very thick but he hates pulling and so do I. Think I’ll just do one extra next time to spread the bulk!

That's very similar to my pony's mane but I can never get my plaits as smart looking as yours! More practise required lol

I’ve just started using plaiting gel as well as water (I use the smart grooming one) and I never pull I only ever level his mane with scissors so no wispy bits etc. I spray them with quarter mark spray once sewn in too :)

I recently bought a new product its a stick of plaiting wax, just the best thing ever, much better than any gel or spray I have ever used. Have you thought of dividing the mane and plaiting on both sides of the neck, I have seen that a fair bit and it looks fine. I really like your saddle cloth, what make/brand is it? He looks very cheeky in the halt photo, typical small pony look! Well done though you are obviously having lots of fun together.

How about this for plating a long main

Yeah I’ve tried this too and it would actually need to be longer to stay put as it’s so thick,if that makes sense. I don’t mind the golf ball look at all fortunately! And he can pull it off as he’s quite cresty:)

It’s a Catago one,I really like it -wears well and washes up perfectly each time.
That’s the cob size under a 15 saddle on 13hh pony for ref :)
