Ive currently got my boy in a Neue Schule Verbindend lozenge bit with loose rings, he has been going very nicely in it until recently, and now he seems to be resisting against my hand, so i was wondering if there is anything milder i could try him in.

Teeth, back & tack are all fine :D he is a sensitive soul, with thick tongue and fleshy lips.

Thanks in advance :D

I love Myler bits and my horse seems to respond much better to bits which have less movement in them. She gets very worried in her mouth especially about her tongue - I ride without a noseband most of the time and just a loose cavesson for dressage and I have weekly lessons with a classical instructor so I am constantly trying to improve my hands for her but I do believe that bitting is also an important part of the equation.

I have her in this one at the moment:

Hanging cheeks seem to keep the bit stiller in her mouth and she likes the curved mouthpiece which allows more room for her tongue. I have also got a nice curved snaffle with a lozenge but that can bend back around her tongue whereas this one can't so I think she feels a bit more secure.

Maybe try using a bit bank as this type of bit is pretty expensive and you will probably want to play around until you find something that works for you and your horse.
