I should point out that by "Military" he/she means eventing.
Many countries still call it military as eventing was purely a competition for military riders many years ago...

In this country, these events are known as 'horse trails' or more commonly 'Eventing'.

We have dressage, cross country and show jumping.

I know that some countries still call it 'Military', but in the UK most riders would not understand this term, I expect.

Not known as military events anymore over here. Although that's where the origins still lie
