Hi, I have just brought some provimi multimilk (lamb, calf, puppy & foal) and I want to give it to my old hunter this season he’s a big lad but last season I just couldn’t keep his weight on, the more I gave him he would just leave it! I tired lots of different supplements but someone told me to put half a scoop of milk power in his feed and it works wonders! I was just wondering if anyone els has tried this?
many thanks!

It used to be a thing fifty years ago together with boiled linseed and barley. We now have more and easier choices like micronised linseed and copra or specialist feeds like Equijewel but if an older horse is not thriving it is always worth having him tested for Cushings. An inability to thrive is sometimes the only symptom of the disease in the early stages.
