Does anyone know anything about the Millfieds Connemara Stud or its ponies? It is quite close to me and i'm tempted to have a look but i'd like to know how sucessful the ponies have been or what kind of temperments they have what they've done. Any info from people who have a Millfields pony of have heard of them??

Thanks!!

From what I remember, it was started some years ago (70/80s?) by Anne ?(Hammond?) and the prefix came from her original riding school over in the east side, Newmarket way I think. They have done well showing in the past but can't be exact for you, sorry.

My first "own" pony came from Anne Hammond over 30 years ago!

Sad to say I can't remember much about her setup and it has no doubt changed greatly since then.

My pony was an exceptionally good jumper but loved to show off in the ring by coming to a stop before each jump, posing and then jumping from a standstill. Extremely embarrassing when you're 13. He used to go clear though!

He was rather spooky and had the distinction of bucking my Pony Club DC off after he'd been mucking me about at a rally and she got on to "sort him out". He hardly ever bucked with me on.

He was a huge character and very very handsome.
