What do people think of him as a stallion. I know its quite a limited stock of semen left but just looking at options?

By High Top the same as Poetic Justice and they have a few things in common.
Both were Brown/Black and throw horses that are very talented but opinionated .

I've only known 3 of his stock, one mare is an absolute pleasure in every way, the other two were very cross/grumpy people that had real bravery issues on the XC but they did come right with time. Miners frolic's early XC record also suggests that there were XC issues there. So perhaps they are a little opinionated!
They look athlettic tho and are very comapct/stocky types.

I love High Top (no reason other than i always have!!). Was Miners Lamp well used when alive or do we just not hear of many progeny?

He would have covered mostly race mares to start with but would have covered most sport horse mares later in life when he went to Chris Hewlett.
I think he was older when he was presented for grading.
High Top is where the enigmaticness comes from.

There are a few of his progeny listed on the sport horse database but we dont know how accurate that is! Maybe NED online would show something.

There was also Polly Stocktons/Mark Todd's advanced horse Davy that was by Miners, I think he was sold to Karen O connor to ride.

And Gold Miner, he did quite well until a change of home.

My horse is by Miners lamp - he is a XC machine (see hjis BE record - no xc penalties so far at intro and PN ) Dressage is okay and lovely paces. He can be opinionated and cheeky but not nasty. Not grumpy and a pleasure to own. He is 7 and I hope to take him above Novice and I have no doubt he has the scope. His jump is enormous!

Just in case anyone is interested, there is a very inetersting post about Miner on the COTH forum. The dam of Theodore O'Connor had a gorgeous foal to him this year as well as the stud also have a pure TB foal from him. In addition Karen O Connor has a mare due to him for 2009 - it looks like he is VERY VERY popular in the USA.

These are the 2 foals by him from this year (TB foal on left and 1/2 bro to Teddy O Connor on rught):

And this is the 1/2 bro to Teddy O'Connor (only expected to make 14hh as as dam is 1/2tb/1/4 shetland/1/2 arab.
