mini leadrein pony not in much work - to trust with pony rides?

my mini is a wee star with little ones but isnt in regular work as I have her for a companion. I lunge her and take her for walks with her tack on though. Now and then I have friends over with little ones who obviously would love to ride her but Im unsure as it would have been weeks since she was last ridden each time. What would you do?

Im sure she'd be fine - just be ready to whip the child off if she isn't!

If she's not been ridden for a while do you know anyone with a child that does ride to check its ok with long gaps between? That said, small ponies often are usually fine even if they've had a few years gap!

My sec A is often worse the more he's ridden! Depending on the circumstances though, a quick lunge will soon tell you how fresh they are. My chap can explode on the lunge if he is very fresh, and I just wait till I have to encourage him to canter then I know he's ready!
