My parents announced last night they have got one of these :eek:

Apparently he is the result of an accidental mating when the neighbours poodle got at two min pin sisters :eek: :eek: Result: one very smug poodle and 2 litters of puppies! As such there has been no health testing of any sort and no real idea what they will grow into.

My mum grew up with poodles but has no idea on the pinscher side at all. Is there anything to look out for and any health problems that may occur esp any that both breeds are prone to. Also, what is the character of the min pin? I only know one who was a rescue so maybe not the best example but he is still lovely!

Finally..... name suggestions please!! I will put up a photo later when it gets emailed to me but be warned, I am told he is seriously cute :D
 
Pics! What a gorgeous cross that would be I should think. Clever little poodle - I bet everyone except the dogs was livid.
 
Would love to see pics - having looked at some on that link posted I am suspicious mine could have that in her somewhere, the ears are huge just like hers!!! :)

And no HeatherAnn, thankfully the poodle is toy size! I've now found out his owner was dying of cancer at the time so probably not being watched too closely :(

Thanks for the info, that link is great! Is there anything that can be done for luxating patella and can it even be tested for in a puppy? He is going to the vets on Wednesday for his "puppy induction"

Oh and I definitely need assistance on the naming front - my Mum wants to call him Bobby, my Dad likes Marti and my OH thinks it should be Brutus. I'm not sure which is worse out of that lot! Their other dog is called Cassie so it has to sound different from that...
 
Adorable little puppy, does he have white on him as well? wonder how big he will grow, how old is he?.

I am pretty rubbish at names but the suggestions you have had so far are not good:)
 
He only has a few white hairs around the edges of the tan bits. He's just 8 weeks old and those wellies are my Dad's size 10s to give you an idea of size :) I guess he will end up about 10 - 12" high?
 
:D he is very cute!!!! a friend of mine has a dog called mischief....and another friend has one called tricky......i like sparky and monkey.....he looks like he will be very cheeky, could also be chico.......
