Minimising shedding with labs ?

My lab seems to shed an awful lot of hair all year round. Every couple of days I give him a good comb but still my house looks like I've carpeted it with lab hair. Probably doesn't help that all of my floors are hard so I've no carpet to absorb some of it. He does have a bald patch on one side which the vets cannot explain and the hair doesn't come out in clumps just all over.

Does anyone know of any feed supplements or anything that could help?

Having had a goldie and a lab may I suggest either colour co-ordinating all your furniture and clothing to match your dog or failing that waxing/shaving (the dog not you). I've been scraping up dog hair for the last 14 years

and nothing hsa worked

although giving them a good going over with the handheld hoover

every couple of days does minimise the need to hoover the hosue every day

Is always a problem with labs! Ours do better when the house is cooler - they are really mean to be outdoor working dogs so I think snuggly warm central heating etc confuses their natural cycle of proper moulting summer/winter coats.
