Who owns one (or 2/3/4/5..)
What do you do with them?

I really really love them.& would love to get a spotty to show & be a companion & possibly drive?
Can you drive minis?

Pics please guys :)

I have 20+ mini shetlands.

Yes they definitely can be driven. And ridden, and do horse agility, and walked inhand, used for carrying things around the yard, etc etc.

What I would say is to be careful how lightly built and small they are, as the smaller & lighter they are, the less weight they will be able to pull/carry, for less time.

Mini shetlands are 34 inches & under - personally we always aim for the bigger end of the scale, with good bone, but they can come a lot lighter & smaller.

We've got a few videos on this Facebook page - we do aim to try to showcase not only what our own ponies can do, but what the breed as a whole can do:

I have been told in the past that yes they will, but maybe you should get out and walk up/down steep hills.

I have two mini shetlands, too young yet to be broken, they are fantastic fun but was warned to make sure that I treated them like horses not pets this way they will behave better, I've yet to find anything they're scared of, they seem to pick up new things quite quickly and are just so much fun.

Cant wait to break them to harness in a couple of years.

As others have said, yes they could pull you, but you may need to walk up steep hills, or when pony is unfit - depending on size/strength/fitness of pony.

Why not get a pair, and learn to drive a pair? Then you'll have even less limits as to what you can do.

We have three and they are gorgeous and great fun. Don't do a lot with them but we take them for walks and play a lot with obstacle courses which they very much enjoy. They are all the most laid back creatures you could hope to meet, I've never seen any of them show fear. Two of the trio are dam and foal and when we first had them the foal was small enough to pick up. The first time she met the farrier she ended up lying on her back whilst he trimmed her feet :) She stands like a little Princess these days,in fact you can do pretty much anything with any of them.
