I think the most accurate comment I have ever read on here was about the hunting act. Cant remember who it was who posted it, but the essence of it was that anyone who wanted the existing hunting act repealled was mad, as it was far better to have the current legislation, full of holes and pretty much unenforceable, than a potential new act which would be far more effective

Thats a very good point actually Splotchy and one I hadn't thought about. The comment that really irritates me though is:
"The truth of the matter is that hunting is barbaric and cruel and the only purpose it serves is to appease the sick minds of a very small minority who enjoy torturing animals for their own entertainment."
It just annoys me that someone in his position is allowed to say something like that.

I seem to remember my dad saying a few months ago that he totally attacked airlines, saying how flying should be banned etc etc. As my dad (who is an airline pilot) quite rightly pointed out without airlines and flying we would not be able to get half the food/goods and other services etc that we rely on.

sorry to disapoint you.. but they will get in again they left a bancrupt cock up mess after they were in just after the second world war then again left the country on its knees in the late 70s it wont be for a few years but some people are stupid and will vote them in again one sad day for them to make a sorry mess once again

Champagne socialists do anything in the name of propoganda. Lucky family, never had any pressure due to their truly aristocratic background to find a real job. Amazing how the Labour Party provide a haven for preserving the local lord and master in his usual position. Anyone who is from West Lothian and has seen their ancestral home will know what I'm talking about. If only our elected representatives had a little more brain power and education and were able to think about the impact of laws they back, rather than forging ahead with their own prejudices and political agendas.
