Checked Rosie over this morning and shes's managed to skin a hind leg in 2 places. Looks very minor, just a 1p size of damage in two places and one had bled a bit. No heat, swelling and didn't hurt to the touch. Bathed with Hibiscrub, dabbed dry and went to work.

Got home tonight and she was resting that leg, only for a bit though. Still no tenderness and hasn't bled any more but the leg was slightly swollen on the inside.

One cut is right at the back of her leg between point of hock and fetlock, that area was warm to the touch. Other cut is on the inside just below the boney hock area, and now there's little definition of the tendons.

She's sound.

Should I worry?

She rarely swells if she knocks or cuts herself which is why I'm perhaps a bit more worried than I'd normally be.

Thanks

I wouldnt use hibiscrub use a mild saline solution instead, sometimes hibiscrub can kill the good bacteria as well as the bad.

See how it is in the morning, if the swelling has gotten worse I'd ring your vet, and give it a cold hose. She may just have given it quite a knock when she cut it.

Thanks all.

Will bear in mind about the Hibiscrub which I've always used, but perhaps isn't sensible. I have some saline made up which I use for emergencies, so will dab that on instead next time.

Although wounds actually dried up now, and swelling down a bit, so she probably just knocked it.

Will keep an eye out
