Went to check the Dylan on Friday ... missing an overreach boot (left foot), but otherwise fine.
Sunday - missing front right shoe *rolls eyes*
Monday - my friend brought him in for the farrier, he was a bit touchy on the bare foot; farrier pared his foot back and said there was no way he'd get a shoe on it because it was so crumbled (our farrier's a marvel, if he can't get a shoe on it MUST be bad). Friend went to lead him back to his box, and he decided his foot was too sore to take any weight on, so the farrier had to duct tape a piece of cardboard to his foot so that he could walk back to his stable!
He's to stay in until Monday, when the farrier's going to put plates on his front feet. This after he hasn't been ridden in a week because he had rainscald.
Gah! I love Dylan dearly, but he's such a precious little sod sometimes!
Here endeth the rant. Cookies to anyone who actually read it
