I got a Back on Track MIPS helmet which is a very good fit. It is slightly more oval than round in shape so doesn't put the pressure on over my forehead which used to give me a headache at times. It is also quite light.
The other plus is you can take the liners out and wash them. I did also buy a winter liner which covers the ears and keeps all the cold, wet, windy weather from blowing in to my ears.View attachment 61256View attachment 61257

Shame, that would fit my head shape, but I really like them deeper at the back than that, those feel very perched on me.

Definitely come join the group. Lots of folks have had this same discussion.

The back on track Lynx has fit more people than the EQ3. And it sits a bit deeper too.

The Champion MIPS tend to fit a bit deeper than others. But it REALLY depends on your own head and your preferences.

I have the back on track Lynx one, I really like how it fits. It's comfy, and always feels secure on my head, plus it's very adjustable. Also seems to be keeping my head a bit cooler now its summer here.
AE, can I ask did you try this one before ordering, if so where? I've j just spent a couple of hours trying to see if anywhere in Perth had any of the MIPS helmets in stock so I could try them, and coming up very short.

THanks for the info on this. I’d seen MIPS mentioned but not really taken much notice. I nearly bought a new hat a couple of months ago but fortunately couldn’t quite find the right fit for a not astronomical price but as it happens the one hat that did fit but wasn’t the right colour and also £450 doesn’t appear to have MIPS so I think I was lucky as I can now get one with better protection.

FWIW, I LOVE Hypostore. They shipped to me a version of the Lynx MIPS helmet that is lovely and not currently sold in that color/material here in the USA.

Their customer service was amazing as we had to wait for a shipment from Back On Track to them to get the helmet in and then ship it to the US. They were so diligent about keeping me in the loop. I cannot praise them enough.

Also I got to try on a Uvex the other day. I liked it, not as much as my Lynx, but the sheer lightweight aspect was incredible. It barely weighs a pound. A touch more if your head is large but overall so light and airy. I imagine a lot of people will like it.

MAKE SURE you watch the fitting videos for the Uvex, and let me know if you need help finding the video. But the Uvex has an unusual, but very useful, ability to adjust the depth the helmet sits on your head, not just the circumference. BUT I can see how this would be difficult to know right off.

I have the Charles Owen skull. I switched from Champion ventair and find it more comfortable. I find it feels like a normal hat, the only thing I'm not a fan of is that the liners velcro onto the MIPS shell and with sweat, the velcro stickers have shifted so I have to keep fixing them.

Just to go back to this, on Sunday I realised that my liner was no longer attached at the front due to the velcro tab losing its stickiness, contacted CO on Monday and new velcro tabs are on their way to me.
