.................... for my chilblains(sp)!!!!!! I have them really badly this year, all my toes are now swollen, and it hurts to walk. ATM i am moisturising them 2x a day, and wearing a thin pair, and a thick pair of socks, plus my boots are neoprene lined. I really don't know what else I can do for them, but it is getting to the point where it getting too uncomfortable to walk, and they are getting worse not better

A really gross sounding old wives tale is to soak your feet in urine! your own that is. I have no idea if it works tho!

Cant remeber the recipe, but on BBC2 this Christmas there was a programme called victorian Christams. They had a method for making chilblain remidy. Cant remeber the method but maybe worth a look on the website

, good luck

good old sudocreme worked for mine last winter but its a bit messy! It had a few horse hairs mixed in as I also use it on mud fever.

pee on them!!! and wear long johns and thermal trousers and keep the femeral artery warm ... the one at the top of your thighs! dont have hot baths or showers and warm your boots overnight!

Try 'snowfire' cream and tiger balm. I have awful chilblains at the moment, I can't walk and it REALLY hurts! One of my livery clients works with feet and recomended these two, I only got them today so can't say if its helping or not yet!
She also said, try not to warm up too quick, warm your feet very slowley, and don't wear anything tight on your feet.
Good luck, I think I will be minus a few toes by summer at this rate!!!

When I was a little girl I used to suffer terribly with chilblains, my dad made me sit with my feet in a bucket of really cold water for a few minutes then a bucket of hot water and repeat this process a few times, it gets the circulation going. I have never suffered from them since!

Thanks you guys! Laurenm01 that article was really interesting, thankyou. I'll have a look at the snowfire cream and tigerbalm. Maybe I might be better with just one thick pair of socks on, rather than 2, then my boots won't be quite so tight. I have to say regardless of weather urine works or not, i'm going to leave that method until nothing else has worked, only when I have exhausted all other avenues................

Boots do a cream that is Cammomile and Glycerine- I get Chilblains on the outside of my thighs and on my tootsies, and this has really helped. It's about £3 from most Boots (the one in Sherburn does it.)
Massage is good for them- it gets the circulation going without drastically changing the temperature of your toes/thighs/ears/feet etc, which is what you need to try to avoid.
Also, try looking on google under 'Perniosis'- there's a bit more info on them there. (Perniosis and Chilblains are the same thing, just on a different part of your body)

Sympathy - can be so sore!

Need to work on your overall circulation and circulatory health.

Thin and thick socks, neoprine boots - all will create an environment that restrict so spend as little time in them as you can and go barefoot whenever you can to improve the circulation in your feet.
